Vintage Grenson Monk Shoes Mens Uk 8.5 Eu 42.5 Burgundy Leather 70's
Thanks for looking
If you're reading this then you'll already know exactly what you're looking at
This is an exceptionally rare pair of shoes - they're Grensons from the Footmaster range which was a limited edition run they produced in the early 1970's. As the name suggests, The Footmaster have a narrower profile than their normal shoes giving a sleeker look. Personally, they look more 60's to me - the kind of boots The Saint (Roger Moore...not the 80s guy) would have worn...a bit cooler and more flamboyant than James Bond could ever be! (Bond always wore Church's...nice shoes but quite boring)
The shoes in the photos are the pair that you'll recieve. As you can see they're in generally outstanding condition. There's some minot wear on the veneer at the buckle but nothing serious
Grenson have been hand producing footwear for Europe's nobility for centuries now out of their Northampton facility - they're still based there. They use the finest leather and it takes 25 years of training before one of their workers can claim to be a genuine Grenson craftsman. Every pair is unique and the attention to detail is impeccable. You'll never find another pair of these Grenson monk shoes elsewhere....I'd be very surprised if this isn't the last pair left. At the time they would have cost the modern equivalent of £450 so grab a serious bargain!
Obviously, what makes these special is the colour - the come in a stunning burgundy hi shine calf leather - much darker and redder than standard oxeblood. A real standout pair of boots!
