This is the "Moon Crystal" from legendary Scottish Paperweight masters, Caithness. Every piece is handmade and unique. This is a particularly beautiful design - in my opinion one of their best!

We see plenty of the blue base variant of this model but this is the first time I've seen a purple one - obviously, far fewer were produced. Even though this is an older model, you can see it's still in outstanding condition.

It's difficult to price Caithness as so many factors affect the price massively. I've priced this at 20% less than the current trending value. Caithness pieces are rare so it'll only ever go up in value! It would make a fascinating centerpiece as a stand alone item or would be a fine addition to any collection

Condition

This is the best part! These older Caithness Paperweights have often been dropped or mistreated so usually have scuffs and chips. This one was always kept in a display cabinet so remains perfect. It was on display on a glass shelf so there are some minor scratches on the base but (as per the photo) this is non visible unless you turn it upside down and start looking very closely. Obviously, this doesn't affect the beauty of the piece whatsoever.

Sadly, we don't have the original box but I think something this dazzling should be on display and not hidden away. We'll pad it carefully and ship in a much larger, solid box to ensure safe delivery
