VINTAGE PAIR INDIAN BRASS VASES Water Jugs Brass Etched Hand Painted 1972

This is a pair of vintage Indian vases/water jugs (bought to the UK in 1972) - this is the far rarer floral etched, hand painted model. Theyre in structurally perfect condition with no cracks but with a very slight dent in the top of one of them (only visible when you put them side by side - see pic)

The vases were purchased in Jaipur, Rajasthan from a bespoke metal artist so not the mass produced models you could pick up in Delhi at the time. They have been hand etched then painted with fine yellow, red, green & blue detailing.

They measure 30cm (12 inches) in height

This is a genuine attic find which has recently been rediscovered after almost half a century hidden away. A beautiful set that really deserves to go to someone who will appreciate it. As mentioned, I've checked them over and they really are in remarkable condition for their age. When new they will have been a high shine set of vases but over the decades, the lustre has dulled. I'm leaving them in this condition as most buyers prefer this aged/original look but if you want them shining again it'll only take 5 mins with some polish to get them back to looking brand new.

Pricing these has been really difficult! I've checked online and there aren't many complete examples left. You can pick up the mass produced sets for as little as £15 but they really are very different this pair. One in clean condition recently sold for £265 in the USA! Personally, I think that's way too expensive so have kept the price sensible.
